Ingredients:

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), Sumac (Cotinus), Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) 1.8% dry water. Ethanol 30% v/v

Yarrow, Sumac and Chamomile tincture combines the main pharmacological actions of the three medicinal plants as anti-inflammatory, astringent, hemostatic and antispasmodic action, which is expressed in therapeutic effects in a number of pathological conditions such as weakness, dilation, inflammation, thrombosis, varicose veins of the lower extremities and esophagus, hemorrhoids, skin inflammation, hyperemia and pain in the upper respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, etc.

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium L.) has hemostatic and anti-inflammatory capabilities. The main biologically active ingredient of the plant is the essential oil consisting of chamazulene, sesquiterpene lactone matricin, alpha – caryophyllene and bicyclic terpenes, among others.
The healing properties of yarrow have been known since ancient times. For example, soldiers from the Roman legions had yarrow stalks in their backpacks so that they could stop the bleeding if they were wounded. In modern times, yarrow is used to normalize the motor and secretory function of the stomach and to accelerate blood clotting in small hemorrhages of uterine origin, from the gums and nose, in peptic ulcer disease, in gastritis, colitis, hemorrhoids, flatulence, etc.

Sumac (Cotinus coggyrgiaScop.) contains mainly halothanins (15 to 25%), essential oils (myrcene, alpha-pinene, camphene, linalool), flavonoids myrcetin and quercetin, free gallic and ellagic acids. Sumac has astringent (tightening), antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and hemostatic effects due to the halothanins and essential oil. It can also be taken in the form of a decoction for diarrhea, dysentery, colitis and for gurgling in bleeding gums. Externally it can be used for baths for wounds, eczema, for sweating feet, for purulent wounds and boils, for compresses for pimples. Sumac is also against hemoptysis, inflammation of the stomach and intestines, kidney disease, diarrhea and hemorrhoids.

Chamomile contains essential oil with up to 10% chamazulene with intense blue color, cadine, terpenes and sesquiterpenes; flavonoids, phytosterols, bitter substances, coumarin, apigenin, choline, glycerides of fatty acids, mucus, vitamin C, provitamin A, etc. The main actions of chamomile are anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, emollient and soothing. The anti-inflammatory effect is due to chamazulene and the later discovered substance bisabolol. Hamazulene also has analgesic, diaphoretic and disinfectant effects. The antispasmodic effect is due to apigenin, umbeliferon, flavonoids and coumarin derivatives.

All of the herbs are harvested from ecologically clean parts of Bulgaria.

I ordered just the drops because my hemorrhoids were bleeding, the pain was scary and I couldn’t sit! The drops helped but not as much as if I had bought the ointment too! After using both I can wholehearthedly recommend them together.
